Code of Ethics

INTRODUCTION

 

Fun Inc. has a goal to make a difference in everything we do. Making a difference means keeping the needs of our customers and our company owners front and centre in our business. It means being responsive to the needs of the community in which we operate and being a responsible corporate citizen. It means being fair and ethical in our dealings with our company owners and customers. It means dealing with others with respect and fairness.

 

Fun Inc. believes that the principles of respect and fairness extend to our relationships with our business partners and suppliers. As a result, compliance with this Business Partner and Supplier Code of Conduct is expected of all our business partners and suppliers.

 

We believe that the standards reflected in our BPSCC should apply throughout our supply chain. Accordingly we expect that our business partners and suppliers will require their business partners, suppliers and subcontractors whose work forms part of Fun Inc. supply chain or business to comply with the standards reflected in our BPSCC.

 

The BPSCC is based on internationally accepted labour standards including the International Labour Organization's (ILO) core conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Failure to substantially comply with this BPSCC will be sufficient cause for Fun Inc. to elect to revoke business partner and supplier’s approved status.

 

COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE LAWS AND STANDARDS AND OUR BPSCC

Business partners and suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable local and national laws and regulations of the jurisdictions in which the suppliers are doing business. Where industry standards are more rigorous than legal requirements, business partners and suppliers are expected t o comply with the higher standard.

 

Business partners and suppliers should maintain appropriate records to demonstrate their compliance and adherence to the BPSCC and must provide such records, or access to such records, as Fun Inc. may reasonably request to verify their compliance.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

 

Management Practice

Fun Inc expects its business partners and suppliers to provide fundamental worker protections as outlined in this BPSCC. Business partners and suppliers should incorporate these worker protections into their company policies. These are intended to be minimum standards and may be exceeded voluntarily b y business partners and suppliers, or where applicable laws or industry standards provide for a higher standard.

 

Compensation

Business partners and suppliers should compensate their employees by providing wages and benefits which are in compliance with the local and national laws and regulations of the jurisdictions in which the business partner or supplier is doing business, or which are consistent with the prevailing local standards in the countries, if the prevailing local standards are higher workers should be paid in a timely manner.

 

FUN INC

Business Partners and Suppliers Code of Conduct

 

Business partner or supplier is doing business, or which are consistent with the prevailing local standards in the countries, if the prevailing local standards are higher. Workers should be paid in a timely manner, and the basics on which workers are being paid must be clearly conveyed to workers in a timely manner.

 

Working Hours

Business partners and suppliers should follow all applicable national and local laws and published industry standards pertaining to the number of hours and days worked by all employees working on products or services supplied to Fun Inc. Where there are no applicable laws, a workweek should be restricted to 60 hours, including overtime, except in emergency or unusual situations, and workers should be allowed to at least one day off every seven days.

 

Forced labour  

Employment should be freely chosen and workers should be free to leave work or terminate their employment with reasonable notice. Business partners and suppliers should not use any form of forced, debt-bonded, prison or otherwise involuntary labour. Workers should not be subject to any restrictions on their freedom of movement unrelated to the conditions of their employment - this includes not requiring workers to surrender any government identification, passports or work permits as a condition of employment. The conditions of employment must be convoyed to the employees in a manner that is easily understood.

 

Child labour  

Exploitation of child labour is not acceptable. no bussiness partner or supplier may use child labour which materially interferes with, or prevents, a child's completion of compulsory schooling or access to primary education. The minimum age for full time workers will not be less than 15 years of age (14 years of age where local law permits in accordance with ILO Convention 138 ). Any workers over the age of 15 but younger than 18, must not be made to perform work under dangerous or hazardous conditions, consistent with ILO Convention 138. All applicable laws for the protection of young work

ers will be observed.

Discrimination / Human Rights

Workers must not be subject to discrimination in employment, including with respect to hiring, salary, benefits, advancement,discipline,termination or retirement, on the basis of gender, race, religious or personal beliefs, age ( other than legally allowed hiring or retirement requirements ), disability, sexual orientation, maternity or marital status, nationality, political opinion or social or ethnic origin.

 

Discipline

Workers should be treated with respect and dignity, no form of discipline involving corporal punishment, abuse or harassment ( whether psychological, sexual or verbal ) is permitted. Disciplinary measures should comply with local laws and internationally recognized human rights. No employee raising a complaint based on this BPSCC, or based on applicable laws, should be subject to disciplinary action or reprisal.

 

Association

Business partners and suppliers are expected to comply with local laws regarding workers rights to freely join and form workers organizations. Business partners and suppliers shall not discriminate with respect.

To employment based on union membership, and shall not make employment conditional on relinquishing union membership or an agreement not to join a union.

 

WORKSPACE ENVIRONMENT

 

Product Quality and Safety

All business partners and suppliers must meet product quality and safety standards required by applicable legislation and regulations. In addition to local applicable legislation, when conducting business with Fun Inc, or as part of the Fun Inc. system, business partners and suppliers must also comply with Fun Inc. quality and safety requirements and meet or exceed industry standards for quality and safety.

 

Environmental Practices

Business partners and suppliers are expected to comply with applicable local legislation and regulations in relation to the protection of the environment. Suppliers and business partners are encouraged to establish environmental policies and practices to manage, monitor and reduce their impact on the environment in an effort to promote greater environmental responsibility.

 

BUSINESS ETHICS

 

Bribery/ Corruption

Business partners and suppliers are expected to comply with applicable Canadian, United States and local anti-corruption laws, and not engage in any form of corrupt practices, including extortion, fraud, or bribery.
